If you haven’t already, it’s time to start thinking about your Christmas shopping. If you have littles, you want to get a jump on the season; so you started in July. That’s probably not the best idea, because kid’s minds change faster than a Maglev train. You think you’ve found the newest computer game or Barbie dream house, complete with a toy box to hold 1,500 pairs of Barbie shoes. And then they see something else.
Christmas shopping isn’t the only thing that should be in your thoughts. Sharing your blessings with others, especially children who will wake up on Christmas morning with no gifts under the tree, is the most meaningful, heartfelt way to celebrate the season. There are so many organizations that make Christmas wishes come true for disadvantaged children. They need your help this year.
The My Storage Plus facilities are partnering with a number of familiar, but outstanding, causes this year, giving you the perfect opportunity to share your blessings during this beautiful, bountiful season.
Access Storage of Boerne is partnering with the Kendall County Sheriff’s Office on the Blue Santa Toy Drive. This charity provides families in need with assistance in getting Christmas gifts for their children. Toys will be collected at Access Storage in Boerne, 105 Shooting Club Road, on November 30 from 9:30 AM to 5:30 PM.
The Storage Plus of Katy, Old Katy, and Katy Kingsland locations are promoting Seasons for Giving in coordination with Move for Hunger, a non-profit that works with relocation services to pick up the unwanted, non-perishable food items from those who are moving and deliver it to their local food banks. The public will have the opportunity to drop off canned goods at the three Katy locations through the entire month of December. Drop off is during normal business hours. The food will be collected on January 4. These three locations, all in Katy, are as follows: Katy (23014 Franz Road), Old Katy (2310 E 5th Street), and Katy Kingsland (22223 Kingsland Blvd.).
Caney Creek Self Storage has a donation box for Toys for Tots. You can stop by with a donation during normal business hours. Their location is 18318 US59 Bus in New Caney.
Storage Plus of Winston in Oregon, has partnered with Captain Kristy Church at the Salvation Army to collect toys for children ages 1-14. Donations can be dropped off at the Winston facility, 160 Rose Avenue, Winston, OR, during normal business hours. The cutoff date for donations is December 12 so that deliveries can be made by the December 14 deadline.
Many of the My Storage Plus facilities are doing their part to not only give disadvantaged kids and their families happy memories this Christmas but to change lives in the process. Please join in and share your blessings.
