From the impeachment acquittal of President Donald Trump, to the death of NBA legend Kobe Bryant, to the COVID 19 pandemic, 2020 has been, to say the least, eventful. Historically, there have been worse moments, but the emotional and economic toll taken by the pandemic has been devastating. With the holidays approaching, those of us who are able to help should step up and try to make Christmas a time of hope and happiness for those who haven’t been so blessed. 

If you have little ones, Christmas shopping may have already begun. You want to do your best to make their Christmas dreams come true, especially this year. But, Christmas shopping isn’t the only thing that should be in your thoughts. Sharing your blessings with others, especially children who will wake up on Christmas morning with no gifts under the tree, is the most meaningful, heartfelt way to celebrate the season. There are so many organizations that make Christmas wishes come true for disadvantaged children. They desperately need your help this year.

The Blue Santa Toy Drive

Some of the My Storage Plus locations are partnering with The Blue Santa Toy Drive. This charity provides families in need with assistance in getting Christmas gifts for their children. Look for toy collection boxes at MSP facilities.

Seasons for Giving 

Several of the Houston locations are promoting Seasons for Giving in coordination with Move for Hunger, a non-profit that works with relocation services to pick up the unwanted, non-perishable food items from those who are moving and deliver them to their local food banks. Drop off is during normal business hours. 

Toys for Tots

Toys for Tots was founded in 1947 and is run by the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve. They distribute Christmas gifts to kids whose parents cannot afford to buy them. Donations of new, unwrapped toys and books can be dropped off at many MSP locations during normal business hours.
